Hospital Plate

The owner of this Thorobred gelding told me that after the last trimming from another farrier this horse was extremely lame on the front feet.  On further examination, I found abscesses in the sole just over the pedal bone which were oozing clear fluid.  I debrided the area and made an egg bar shoe with a hospital plate that could be removed by the owner for easy cleaning of the exposed sensitive sole.  The back of the shoe is sealed to prevent filth from entering under the hospital plate.
